Prof. PhD, a graduate from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Geology at the University of Wrocław, PhD of the AGH University of Science and Technology. In the years 1982–1984, he was a visiting professor at the Institute for Earth Studies, Vrije Universitet, Amsterdam. Then, until 2000, he was the head of many key research programmes in the field of deposits, mining and environmental protection. In the years 1998–2002 he was an advisor to the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. For many years he was a social advisor to the Chief Inspectorate for Environmental Protection, a Government Plenipotentiary for Promotion of Alternative Energy Sources, and the Minister of Economy. Member of the supervisory bodies of companies involved in the development of deposits. He effectively combines scientific activities with business.
